Connect multiple Apple Watches

Install Seam directly on each player’s watch, let the watches connect automatically to one coaching iPhone, and broadcast every pitch call to the team.

One coach. One iPhone. Multiple player watches.

Player watches no longer need an iPhone running Seam. Seam is an independent watchOS app that installs directly from the App Store on each Apple Watch.

During Team Mode, each player watch connects to the coach's iPhone over Bluetooth. There is no manual Bluetooth pairing inside Seam.

Check who may receive calls in your league

Team Mode can technically send to several watches, but your rule set determines how many players may receive calls during a game. Under NFHS high school rules, the permitted electronic pitch-calling workflow is one-way from a coach in the dugout to the catcher while the team is on defense.

NCAA, state, travel, and tournament policies can differ. Confirm the written event rules before distributing calls to multiple players.

The 5-step Team Mode walkthrough

    Start Team Mode on the coach’s iPhone

    Open Seam and tap Team Mode. Each player needs the free Seam app on their Apple Watch. Installation takes about two minutes per watch.
  2. 2

    Install Seam directly on each player’s watch

    On the Apple Watch itself, open App Store, search Seam, and tap Get. No iPhone is needed to install the player app. The coach can also use Share Setup Link to send players the install link.

    Open Seam and keep it active on every wrist

    The watch displays Player Watch and explains that it receives signals from the coach. Keep Seam open and the watch screen active during setup and gameplay.

    Wait for the watches to connect automatically

    Connected watches appear on the coach's iPhone on their own. Outdoors, Bluetooth discovery can take 10–20 seconds. Keep the watches nearby and Seam open—there is no need to retry. Name each watch or assign it to a roster player; Seam remembers the name next time.

    Confirm everyone and start the game

    When all expected watches are connected, tap That's everyone, enter the game details, and start. Every pitch call now broadcasts to all connected watches at once.
